WHY 108?
We are regularly asked why we chose the number 108. The simple answer is that it is magical in several sacred world religions and spiritual traditions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, and others. It is the reason that there are 108 beads on the meditation tool mala beads. It is also the reason why many of the Vedic Gods have 108 names. It is also evident in science with the distance of the Earth from the sun is 108 times the diameter of the Sun. Also, the distance between the Earth and Moon is also 108 times the diameter of the moon. Throughout sacred texts and traditions, 108 is a sacred number with references to a certain number of holy books per certain traditions, 108 feeling we experience as humans, 108 energetic meridians in our bodies, 108 delusions we tell as humans, 108 humanly desires and countless other references to this magical number.
